NOTE: As we explained in our previous post, some of the activities had to be cancelled and changed for different ones because of the pandemic declaration.

Arrivals at Madrid airport (the whole group).

Transfer from Madrid to Casar de Cáceres. (We’ll do a bus tour in Madrid to see famous sights such as the Museum of Prado, Santiago Bernabeu Stadium Real Madrid-, the new four skyscrapers, the Kio Towers, Columbus Square, Cibeles and Neptuno Squares...) just before leaving Madrid.

Meeting the families in Casar de Cáceres. Meeting point: IESO Vía de la Plata.

Teachers are driven to Cáceres. Leave luggage in the hotel.

Opening of the project at Creofonte Centre(Casar de Cáceres).
1) Welcome speech by D. Adolfo Lozano, the Principal at IESO
Vía de la Plata(up to 5 min).

2) Opening of the working sessions by Gema Martín and Francisco Berrocal. Ice breaker (up to 60 min).

3) Presentations on renewable energies by the students of the six partner schools. (up to 100 min).

11:45-12:15

Coffee break at IESO Vía de la Plata. Prepared and served by the “Food Industries” Vocational Training Students at IESO “Vía de la Plata.

12:15-13:00

Visit to the school facilities and joining the classes for interviews.

13:00-14:30

Gamification workshop (By María Caballero and Francisco Berrocal). Playing and learning in international groups.

14.30

Lunch break (Students will have lunch with their families. Teachers will have lunch at “El Gallo” Restaurant (Ctra. Nac. 630, close to Casar de Cáceres) 

16:30-17:45

Visit to a photovoltaic plant. We’ll walk to the plant. Meeting point: “Ermita de Santiago” (Santiago’s Chapel). Walking shoes or boots recommended (around 3 kms walk and back)

17:45-18:45

Walk to Casa de los Pinotes, an Interpretation Centre of the Cañada Real Soriana Occidental(West Royal Cattle Track from Soria)

18:45-19:30

Walk back to Casar de Cáceres.

Short tour of Casar de Cáceres

Students stay with their families and teachers go back to Cáceres.

Teachers’ tapas dinner at José Márquez, Restaurant, Cáceres.

NOTE: Students will bring a small sandwich or piece of fruit or snack from their homes for the morning. Walking shoes or boots recommended. 08:00 Teachers will be collected at the entrance of the Extremadura Hotel(Italian team) and at the Obispo GalarzaPublic Parking (the rest of the teams). We need to be punctual.

Bus at IESO Vía de la Plata”. Visit to Monfragüe National Park. Arrival at the park at 9.45. Activities at the North Visitors’ Centre (Centro de Visitantes Norte, Ctra EX208, km9). Short drive into the park. Stop at the lookout point “El Salto del Gitano” (“The Gypsy man’s Jump”) followed by a walking tour up to Monfragüe’s Castle.

Lunch at “Hospederia de Torrejón el Rubio”, in the Restaurant “Paraíso de los Sentidos” (Paradise of Senses). It includes a starter, a main course and dessert, as well as a drink. We need to know if students or teachers have any allergies or food intolerance.

Trip back to Cáceres.

18:00-20:30

Guided visit to Cáceres’ Old Town followed by a Gymkhana in International Groups in the Old Town.

20:30-22:00

Free time for dinner in Cáceres. Meeting point: Obispo Galarza Public Parking.

Trip back to Casar de Cáceres (Teachers stay in Cáceres. Gema and Paco go back to Casar de Cáceres with the students.

Continue visit to Mérida.

Bus trip back to Casar de Cáceres.

Visit to the School of Technology, including the Fatlab SOL (Smart Open Lab), the Robotics lab, the lab of hydrolic turbines and a visit to its gardens, where we will plant some trees to celebrate the International Day of Forests (21st March 2020). Accompanied by Pablo Durán Barroso, Santiago Fernández Rodríguez y Elena Jurado Málaga.
